I don't know about you, but I am loving the series we're in as a church right now, "The Story."
As we've been looking deeper into Chapter 1 this past week (Creation), God's generosity towards us has been overwhelming to me.
From the very beginning, He blessed man with the ability to multiply, he delegated authority to him over everything on earth, and he lavished on man food in abundance including animals for meat and plants of diverse kinds to eat from.
You see, from the very beginning, God has set an example of generosity and going over and above in giving, in providing, in blessing and showing us trust with all of these things.
Read Genesis 1:26-31. Then respond to one (or all) of the following questions:
How has God shown Himself generous towards you? How can you be generous, like Him, towards others this week? In what ways can you trust others with good gifts in the way God trusts us with His blessings?
I hope you are blessed by this devotion.
I am excited to be with you Wednesday night. See you then worshipers.
Ben
Praise God for His generous gifts to us:
ReplyDelete1. rulership over the creation (26);
2. the privilege of bearing His image (27);
3. human diversity (27 – “male and female”);
4. challenges to face (28 – “subdue [the earth]”)
5. varieties of food (29); and
6. the goodness that so much of the creation still has and which we get to enjoy (31).
